Australian racing abounds with those hard working jockeys who ride a ton of trackwork, and go where rides are available.
Of course they dream of coming across the horse that will take them to another level, but they can’t afford to wait around.
One such jockey is Andrew Gibbons who’s hard work has paid off handsomely in recent years. In the 2016/17 season he won 79 races in NSW, another 65 in 2017/18, and he’s currently chasing Greg Ryan with 67 winners in the state.
Steve Hart caught up with Andrew recently, and has allowed me to “plagiarise” his interview.
