Steve Hart caught up with former stud manager John Vincent who retired a few years ago, after a fascinating career in England and Australia.
John gained valuable experience in his native England before migrating to Australia.
He earned great respect in the industry during his tenure at Collingrove Stud (formerly Manado), prompting the late Jim Fleming to secure his services for the famous Tyreel Stud at Agnes Banks.
John spent fifteen years as yearling manager and consultant to Jim and his son Dean. Tyreel yearlings always looked the part and many of them brought top prices at the Inglis sales.
John shared with Steve stories of the horses and horsemen he encountered along the way.
